What should a homeschooler include in the application process that would be most helpful to the admissions committee?

Transcripts of the community college and university classes taken, along with professor/teacher recommendations, and detailed description of all other academic work will naturally be provided. But is there anything else that could be helpful in the evaluation of the non-traditional student?

Call the admissions office and they may give you some frank guidance. My son called early in the app process and got some very useful direction…he was in a regular public school. Try to have specific questions first and then follow with the open ended, general ones so you set up a nice conversation.

Info of use: Why did you/your family decide on homeschooling?

But Glasses is right on. Homeschoolers have some unique challenges, the first (and most important) being giving us a clear sense of what you’ve done academically as well as the level of challenge involved. It sounds like you’ve got a sense of what some of that is already, but your best bet will be contacting admissions offices to ask them, “What is helpful for you to know?”
