Well, the fact that you are homeschooled will be important to some of the schools you are interested in attending so I would go on their websites NOW and see if there are any additional criteria they impose on homeschoolers seeking admission. You may need to submit a portfolio of your work or you may need to take specific SAT II tests. You may be subject to higher SAT/ACT score requirements. The more you know in advance the better prepared you will be. I would plan as though you aer definitely giong to apply to the school with the most stringent admission requirements, that way you will be prepared no matter where you end up applying.

Most minor programs don’t require an audition, although there may be a few that do. In fact, most schools don’t specifically have a minor in MT. It would likely be theatre, dance or voice.

In case you change your mind between now and the time you apply and decide to major in MT at a program that requires an audition, you should be getting the best and most training you can, especially in voice and dance. Is there a community or Youth Theatre group you are or can be affiliated with? That might help.

It’s great that you are exploring all of your options now as a Freshman, rather than waiting until you are a Senior and it’s too late to make any changes!
