Now that im filling out the honors section, I just realized that I have virtually no honors. NHS, AP Scholar, NHRA, and Principal’s List. No scholarships because all the ones I applied to didnt come back yet, no HOSA/Olympiad because my school doesn’t offer that (we just started hosa this year but no competitions any time soon), no anything remotely special. I cant even honestly fill out the whole 5 slots. I feel like this will really set me back. Advice?
If you don’t have any other honors then leave some spaces blank. Despite the impression you get from the internet, not everyone has honors. You have what you have. Don’t try to explain it, that will just sound like excuses and will not reflect well on you.

Option 1: Barista Job
Had for 3 years, all year
Interacted positively with customers
Saved up 10,000 for college (not needed parents are pretty much full pay, would be used for dorm room & projects, just thought it was impressive)
Not family owned/nepo
Option 2: Tennis teacher
2 summers
Self explanatory nothing special taught tennis to a bunch of kids
Paid job
Im also a 4 year varsity tennis player so it would fit w/ my app
How about
Employment: Barista (3 years at ###, ## hours per week), tennis instructor to ## kids (summer camps, 2 years)

Think of it this way -
You’ve been a barista and tennis instructor.
Both are awesome. Both show communication, customer service, responsibility and leadership.
It’s likely there’s not a best barista or tennis instructor award.
In many ways awards are overrated.
It’s not what you get recognized for - it’s what you actually do that matters. And you’ve done plenty - and clearly impacted people.

Many kids don’t, especially those working. Colleges do know that there is a subset of kids who’s priority is bringing in a bit more money. Hang in there!1
