i just received an email from the honors program saying what classes i am scheduled to enroll in next year (freshman), and i was rather disappointed. I was placed into my third of three choices, with the best-case scenario being that i would take both of my top two choices.

anyone else have similar trouble? i know people will say it can all be fixed at drop/add, but could i make such large changes there, especially with the already-coveted honors courses?

as a final side note (real encouraging post, this one) i have still not received any response from the carolina scholars program detailing the scholarship or my specific donor. is this true for others or should i be calling the office?

I got my letter detailing the Carolina Scholars sometime in June.

I’d go ahead and start emailing the professors of the honors classes you’d like to get into. Also… Carol Wynn (or is it Carolyn Winn?) is a HUGE help. I’d email her first, and tell her your situation. See what happens. I wouldn’t be bummed, you can pretty much get into whatever class you want, especially honors, if you put in some effort.

I’m in your EXACT same situation. I was placed into my third/fourth choice classes (Birth and Death in America and Intro to Ethics, by the way). I’m not too bummed, I really wanted my #1 choice (duh) but beyond that I picked things I could be happy with.

I’ve also yet to hear from the scholarship office about the details of my scholarship. I called them a few days ago and asked but didn’t really get a helpful/straight answer… ***? I’m guessing the name of my scholarship is the “Class of 2012 Distinguished Scholarship” based on the info in the brochure.

Jaserr – I haven’t heard anything about my (OOS) Carolina Scholarship or donor either even though I’ll be attending CTOPS next week. I’d really like to know basic things, such as what meal plan it pays for, etc., so I can go ahead and take care of all that at registration. I’ve emailed twice since April to double-check that my scholarship acceptance materials were even received, but got no reply. I know the admissions office is busy, but the “basics” would really be helpful!

i always thought meals would be covered too as part of the “board”. Is this not true? …and an update on information i got an email saying that my financial aid package was updated and the scholarship was there.
