honors classes

Is it more difficult to get an A in an honors class or is just more labor intensive?

I think it varies per class. The rule of thumb is to take an honors class only if you are very interested in the topic, because you will be delving deep into it.

Take honors only if you are very interested in the subject and they do not give you a boost in your GPA (no weighting).

Entirely depends on the course. To give a sample

Great Books = No

Doc’s Physics = A little bit

UHC O Chem = Yes

Rationalism = No

My DS registered for Great Books and Apocalypse Now and Then in UHC.

Comments?

Great books is a really good class. Bove is a top scholar in the field and it is too good of an opportunity to pass up.

I have never heard anything about the other one but it sounds fun.

I would only worry about UHC sciences (which are sometimes good but usually a lot of work). Humanities aren’t too bad ever from what i hear.

Thanks CuttingEdge - he is an avid reader and is looking forward to that class. His advisor told him that he has to take both semesters before he gets a grade, but that didn’t faze him.

I’ll pass along the info on UHC science classes. The humanities classes sound more interesting anyway.
