Honors college and better dorms?

I’ve heard that the dorms for honors college are generally newer and have features like single rooms (so no roomates) and/or private bathrooms.

Is that true?

I’m not worried about the being “isolated” part or being with a bunch of “nerds”. To me, the more space and privacy, the better. I would be living off campus otherwise.

Also, do certain colleges like WashU even have a separate honors college? Maybe in some schools regular and honor students just live in a mix of all the dorms.

Depends on the school - and not every school has an Honors College. At my son’s college, the Honors dorms were nice - maybe nicest. At my daughter’s, it was disgusting.

Rather than ask about WUSTL, you can research…same with the dorms.

Good luck.

Agree. The availability of honors programs as well as what each honors program includes can vary a great deal from college to college. Research the schools you are considering - I expect the information will be readily available on each college’s website.

Totally depends. We just toured one college’s honors dorm and it was the same rooms as everyone else. Small, old, and not welcoming at all. It was actually a big turn off.
