Honors College Unveils 3 New Programs

I mean 2 programs. Along with the budget increase (woot!) that comes from switching from an Honors Program to an Honors College, they have added 3 new 2-year subprograms a la Honors Humanities.

Digital Cultures and Creativity
Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Global Public Health will be the newest concentration in the College Park Scholars Program.
I think the article messed up–it says there are about 1,000 Honors College students; I think it means 1,000 per graduating class.

Do you know if everyone will be able to take honors seminars or will they be relegated to only people in University Honors? Also, will people already in the program now be grandfathered in if honors seminars become restricted?

I’m pretty sure all of those people will be considered part of Honors and therefore allowed to take honors seminars (much like Gems and HH) since they’re not expanding honors enrollment. You can probably email Dr. Dorland directly and ask.

It seems like there are a lot of details to be clarified. Usually with something like this, doesn’t it start new for the freshman coming in, with existing students grandfathered in?
