I get good grades at a Catholic high school, but I am only in a few honors courses. I was in 3 freshman year, 2 sophomore, and 2 junior. Next year I am planning to take 2-3 AP courses and another honors course.

How much will not having a very difficult schedule affect me?

It depends on a lot of other things to, for example what sort of colleges your applying to. Also, if you got A’s in the few Honors courses you took. If other parts of your application are good, then you should be fine. If you’re look at schools in the Top 20 or so, however, it will hurt some because the academics there are so very challenging and they don’t want to admit you if they don’t think you can take the immense workload. Did you take any AP’s though? That could also help. Also, taking 7 over 3 years isn’t that bad, although it’s not going to help you be competitive.

Edit— I saw that you’re taking 2-3 AP’s in your senior year. That’s good, so it should help as long as you GET VERY GOOD GRADES in those classes. Good luck, and remember, there’s more to life than what college you go to! :D
