Honors Engineering

So I searched through a lot of the threads concerning the Honors program, and I think I have a good feel for it. But I still want to put this question straight up.

How Honors Engineering (especially BME, Chem, Civil, and Mechanical) different from the “regular” Cockrell school of Engineering?
What are the advantages/disadvantages and is there any reason for someone who is qualified for it not to apply?

Honestly this goes for other majors as well, but I figured it’d be different for each.

Bumping this because I’m looking for the answer to this same question.

im in CHE. There are no special CHE honors classes. There is an “Honors Thesis” thing which is probably for undergraduate research, but ive never heard anyone talk about.

No reason not to apply though
