Honors Essay

I have been working on a good essay about my passion for a certain sport. However, the question seems to imply that you should write about an academic passion. Would it be ok to write about my passion for a sport?

It’s supposed to be academic.

BTW, has anyone heard anything yet?

hey guys, I think I can help with this one

I got into the honors college last year, and some kids in my grade who were obviously smarter than me didn’t, and my assumed reasoning is that they are looking for a certain type of student. while alot of kids who applied to honors were incredibly smart and had great grades and stats, I don’t think their passion for learning or for a certain subject came through in their essays. honors isn’t looking for kids who want the grades, they’re looking for kids who really really want to learn and are really into pursuing a passion and keeping with it, i guess you kinda have to know what it is you want. of course, it would seem like this is obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people are generic in their honors essays bc they think their grades will be enough.
