<p>I don’t think being in the Distinguished Program would hurt or help you. In our graduating class, over 100 kids graduated in the DP, so it is not that distinguishing! I think you need a pretty high class rank to get in. The top 10% won’t get you in. I think it is more like 4% or so. I know a few really bright kids that didn’t get in. National Merit helps you a LOT to get in. Good luck! The kids I know that are in it say it’s awesome!</p>
