I am an international student, and I don’t understand what is meant by Honors in the Education tab. Is this related to high school courses, or in any other way to high school? Is this the place to include accolades and awards from academic competitions and extracurricular activities (I actually plan to include a separate resume for this). Or maybe it is best to leave it blank since I’m international?

The fact that you are international does not affect these matters. Education> Honors has space to list up to five of your academic honors. Awards from your extracurriculars should be mentioned in Activities. here is no space to include a separate resume and you should not be planning to do that. Although in years past it was common practice to send them, resumes are neither requested nor wanted by schools this year. If you run out of space in Honors or Activities, you can use the Additional Information section, but be succinct.

Some schools this year are providing the opportunity to submit an optional resume. So, as with many things, it depends on the school.

would an award from an academic extracurricular be in the academic honor section? I had no room to put it in the activity description, and I feel like it’s too important to be shifted to the additional information.

If awards from competitions and other extracurricular activities don’t count as honors, then what is meant by “academic honors”. I might be thinking I don’t have these things in my country.

Academic honors are awards and honors related to your studies and academic subjects. As examples, they may be given by your school, be awarded in a contest, or be earned through testing. There is no specific requirement as to the type or form of these awards. Many US schools give awards for the top student in every subject every year and those awards can be listed in the Honors section. US schools also have a lot of honor societies and membership in those is listed in Honors. AP Scholar awards are common, as are honors in national language exams, regional and statewide contests in various subjects, and math and science competitions at all levels.
