Do graduate schools weigh a student’s inclusion in an honor program when they are looking to admit people into their grad programs? I am a student looking to get into graduate school after college. My GPA is 3.6 and I am currently entering my junior year. If I end up taking honors classes I will have to take 5 classes per semester until I graduate. If I do not apply for the honors program in my field I will only be required to take 4 classes per semester until I graduate. Not sure if I should do all the extra work to be included in the psychology honors program from my university.
Yes, they are looked at, but not a necessity - I was not in the psychology honors program when I was in college, and got my PhD in psychology. If you don’t want to do the honors program, then you shouldn’t do it.
