Honors Program vs regular program

So what is the difference between those in the “Honors” program and those not in the honors program at USC?

Are honors students in the same major separated from everyone else in all courses or just some of them?

If someone was accepted in USC (albeit “non-honors”) and also accepted into a more prestigious program at a different university, wouldn’t it be better to go to the more prestigious (ie higher ranking) program since you wouldn’t really be studying with the honor students at USC even though you study with them in high school and get the same grades?

Are you asking about Thematic Option? (And did you apply to Thematic Option and were not accepted?) If so, the only difference is in general education courses - TO has a different ge series. All major courses would be with other students in your major. (I do not know your odds of being in class with those from your high school - you would have to talk to them and sign up for the same schedule to ensure that.)

There are other honors programs at USC - Freshman Science, departmental… which are you asking about?

If “prestige” is the only selection criteria you feel is important, then use that as your criteria. Asking other people’s opinions wouldn’t matter - just the various rankings. Is there anything else you are considering in your descision-making process? Most students have a number of features they look for in order to find the right university.
