Honors Program

Do ppl get accepted to the honors program after BC determines yield? Or is it just ppl who initially got into it?

Thanks

I don't know about the honors programs in the other schools, but no further acceptances will be sent out for A&S. However, you may still have a shot at it, since a few students are usually invited to join as sophomores (based on superior performance as freshmen).

oh, i see. I thought they'd offer it to more people later, assuming that some or even most of these people attend other schools.

Thanks.

BC does assume that some of these students will choose to attend Ivies and other top schools; that's why they invite more than they actually want in the program, assuming there will be some turn-downs. (At least that's how it was explained to us by the Admissions rep for our region a few years ago.)

I know people who were invited into the Honors program over the summer even though they were not initially accepted. I don't know if this happens for A&S Honors, and I don't think it happens frequently, but it is possible. Hope that helps!

What are the criteria for acceptance into the honors program? I had heard it was entirely academic, but I know some students from my high school that got into the program with lower GPA, lower SAT/ACT, etc. I was in top 10-5% for GPA and had a 2210 SAT and did not get accepted.

There's definitely more to it than just GPA and SATs

same jake jake. I thought i had a good chance, but didnt get in it either. unfortunate :/
