Honors Program

Has anyone heard from the Honors Program or know of a date when the decisions will be released? Is it cold there?

Honors decisions are released on a rolling basis, I believe.

And no, it’s not terribly cold. Sixty degrees or so for the high tomorrow.

Not to mention I’d say the honors college is hotter than the rest of campus. If you know what I mean…

I got into honors but I’m not doing honors housing 'cause I wanna live with all the other freshmen on the Hill. I guess those honors kids are just too hot for me

I guess they must be. Where “FromChi” are you, wolverineFromChi? If you’re from Chicago you hvae to be pretty hot to begin with.

haha you got it man. From Lincolnshire, which is nestled in between Buffalo Grove and Lake Forest (northern suburbs)

I definitely know where Lincolnshire is. Stevenson I presume. Yeah, lots and lots of you north shorers here. “Chi” might be stretchin it.

hahahaha yep, Go Patriots, good call. You should know that anybody even remotely close to chicago just tells people from elsewhere that theyre from chicago… its a law or something. where are you from?

Well, I got into the RC and the brochure said I can participate in the honors program. Can anyone elaborate on this, if they know a lot about the RC.

for you chicago kids out there, every year i go to the glenbrooks, which is this national debate tourny, and holy f#ckin $h!t it’s held at new trier high school which is the hugest thing i have ever seen haha

dude you should see my high school… 4600 kids… campus is on 74 acres

wolverinefromchi - you know…you will not necessarily end up on the Hill. And, since most Honors students choose Honors housing, there are something like 500 first years in SQ.
outofstateorbust - it is possible to do both RC and Honors.

haha dearkonstantine. I used to debate at the glenbrooks. Ah, those were the days…making other people feel bad about themselves. New Trier and Stevenson are roughly the same size, but New Trier has the added bonus of a separate “freshman campus” whereas Stevenson is just two buildings.

outofstateorbust–Very few people go through with doing both RC and Honors. I recommend you choose one or the other. Having to satisfy requirements for both programs will make you pretty limited academically, and it’s nice to be able to take classes that just sound cool to you, but you won’t be able to do that if you do both RC and honors.

this essay for the honors program is killing me…also 700 acres…800 students, for my school, thats like an acre per student

Honors essay is really nothin. Just write some bs down. If you have the grades and test scores and at least throw in a decent effort, you’ll probably make it in honors.
