<p>Let’s say you were president of math honor society and competed in it (EC) and its also an honor society (honors)</p>
<p>Being president of the math honor society is not an honor. It is an EC. Receiving the Presidential Award of XYZ is an honor.</p>
<p>Honors are awards, or other recognition, that you received.</p>
