honors

Is the Biology Honors Program the same thing as the campus honors, but just for biology majors, or is it something different?

Just curious, what is the campus honors program? I thought there were just separate ones within each college. How do you get into Campus Honors? :)

It’s ridiculouslly hard. Basic ground rules are like you have to pass an interview or two, be close to being a salutorian or valedictorian, National Merit Scholar etc. etc.
very tough.

I believe it’s 200 out of every class. But back to my question, is biology honors just a part of the campus honors, or is it something different?

Campus Honors: Only about 125 freshman get this and you need to to have extremely high high school GPA and test score.

James Scholars: each college (such as A&S, engineering, business) has this and qualifications vary among the colleges although usually relies heavily on test score and sometimes GPA. Generally top 10 to 15% of class.

Department Honors (such as Biology): Many of the departments within a college have their own additional honors programs to the above and for most you need to be at least a sophomore to qualify and be doing very well in the major and department. Not anything near as hard to qualify for as Campus Honors.

you mean being the top NOW (when applying), or after you go in (maintain consistent excellent GPA in class) ?
