Hooks?

Would attending THIMUN be considered a hook for ivy league schools?

No, that is not a “hook.”

a hook is something that stands out.

Like a finger print.

Do somthing your interested in and/or multiple things your interested in, and do it well.

That’s what they probably want to see.

Not a 20 AP, rubiks cub with pants.

^What in the world is a rubiks cub with pants…

Okay thanks! Its just Yale has been my dream for a couple years and I apply next year. Needless to say, my nerves are out of control. I see all the stat threads and I don’t have any national honors. I live about 45 minutes from a city and I attend a very small rural school. Not much is offered. There is no way i can compete with kids who have 15 AP classes, national honors, published research. That stuff just isn’t available where i’m from  I was hoping that since I applied to a program that went to THIMUN that it might be considered a hook but I guess it isn’t… atleast I enjoyed myself!

Pancaked

Lol it’s an expression a rubics cub with pants means for example means (a human rubics cub).

Swimfreak

I’m pretty on my toes to about admission.

I want to go to MIT or Sandford or NYU ect…

But if you don’t get in don’t freak out it’s not the end of the world, you don’t hafe to go to a college with a prestiges name, to get good learning.

There’s alot of good colleges out there.

But don’t not try, and wounder what could have been.

Just go for it and know you did your best.

Thanks! I’m also applying to Stanford. I’m just going to try my hardest with the applications and let what happens, happen.

I think the phrase you’re looking for is “Rubik’s Cube,” not “cub,” lol.
