Hopeless International Student

I have no clue on which School should I apply to , being an international student, I want to learn and study an engineering course in United States( think Mechanical,Civil). But the thing is my parent’s financial treasures aren’t ready to bear that kind of load that an average US School demands ( about 20,000USD are max. for my parents, just for record). I don’t really care about big names I just want to study engineering at US.
My Academic records:-
High School GPA- 4.0( An A+ in my country)
AP Calculus BC-5
AP Physics Mechanics-5
AP Physics Electromagnetism-5
About to take English Proficiency Test.

If you can get an excellent SAT or ACT score, there are a few places that would guarantee admission and merit-based aid even though you are an international student. Other places would consider you for competitive merit scholarships. Read through the links in this thread, and check each of the universities mentioned to find out whether the scholarships mentioned are available to international students. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1678964-links-to-popular-threads-on-scholarships-and-lower-cost-colleges.html#latest

Thanks,
I know this sounds silly but are there any chances that my SAT would be exempted.

Not if it is required, but there are test optional colleges. Sometimes even for these you have to submit tests to get merit aid, pay attention to the footnotes.

Unfortunately, if you require financial aid or a merit scholarship, you’ll need a SAT score.
The content is not too difficult. The trick to the SAT is speed and accuracy.
