Is there a way to autoforward yale email from Horde to a gmail address? If so, how can I do this?

I’ve been trying to do this, too, but just can’t figure out what the server address is :/

Use this info from the yale its website
[Configure my email software | Yale ITS](<a href=“Homepage - IT at Yale”>Homepage - IT at Yale)
it doesn’t show how to configure exactly for gmail, but the server is the same as it is for the other programs on here and it was pretty easy when i did it. Also if you can’t figure it out, on the first day there are yale student techs working to help you set up your computer and that is one of the things they help you with.

I definitely recommend forwarding to some other program since the horde program is not a very good one.

I set this up with my gmail address a few days ago :)

Click “settings” in the upper right corner of the screen.

Click the subheading “accounts and imports.”

Under “Check mail using POP3,” click “AddPOP3 email account.”

Enter your yale email info.

A confirmation email will be sent to your yale email address.

Optional:

On the same settings screen, add your yale email address to the “send mail as” category. This will allow you to send emails from gmail, but have them come from your yale email address.

Good luck!

When I saw the title I thought this thread was going to be about Azeroth…

@evertheoptimist: That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do, but when I enter my Yale email info and list mail.yale.edu as the POP server, gmail keeps telling me “There was a problem connecting to mail.yale.edu”…??

^nvm, it was because I had checked “Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail,” apparently we can’t do that.

This should help.

The above link–which is great–works for sending Yale mail to another e-mail address, but not to programs like Microsoft Outlook.

After years of not being able to figure it out, I just succeeded in forwarding my Yale mail to Outlook. The key is to put your Incoming server as: NetID.mail.yale.edu; for example, if your NetID is, say, gfl13, you’d put: gfl13.mail.yale.edu …

So for example:

Your Name: George F. Linch
e-mail address: george.linch@yale.edu

Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: gfl13.mail.yale.edu
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yale.edu

User name: gfl13
Password: ********** [whatever your Yale mail password is]
