The above link–which is great–works for sending Yale mail to another e-mail address, but not to programs like Microsoft Outlook.

After years of not being able to figure it out, I just succeeded in forwarding my Yale mail to Outlook. The key is to put your Incoming server as: NetID.mail.yale.edu; for example, if your NetID is, say, gfl13, you’d put: gfl13.mail.yale.edu …

So for example:

Your Name: George F. Linch
e-mail address: george.linch@yale.edu

Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: gfl13.mail.yale.edu
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yale.edu

User name: gfl13
Password: ********** [whatever your Yale mail password is]
