Horrible SAT Mishap

So I took the SAT’s in December 2013 and scored a 2090. To my horror, I took them again last October and got a 1980, going down in all three sections. I wasn’t worried as I thought I just wouldn’t send them. I learned recently my father (who has access to my college board account for whatever reason) sent these scores to Boston College, Fordham, Bard, and Northeastern (my EA schools). Will this reflect horribly since I didnt go up in a single section? Or will they still look at the 2090?

I’m in the top 10% of my class and I have taken 7 AP’s and am highly involved in extracurriculars with tons of leadership. Would such a drop in SAT scores ruin my chances? Any advice is much appreciated.

I also got a 31 on my ACT which I submitted to BC.

If by recently you mean one to two weeks ago then you have nothing to worry about as they will not reach the admission office(s) before a decision is made.

Regardless, you have very little to fear. There’s little difference between 2090 and a 1980 and honestly I would say you probably did better in the October one then in the December one, however the SAT curve has been more harsh as of late.

Since your ACT score is higher than your SAT, BC will focus on that when making their decisions.

Hope this helps and best of luck.

You need to change your collegeboard password!

@QuadMaster‌ Thank you. You helped calm me lol

If anyone else has any advice, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

My opinion: It does not hurt since it is in the same statistical range of scores. Also some schools will only consider your best scores. Good Luck and carry on.
