Will the admissions officers consider this “elitist?” The official name of the team at my college is the “Equestrian Team.” I’m aware that for undergraduate admissions, this sort of activity is looked down on. Is it the same for medical school? I really want to participate in this club, but I don’t want to ruin my chances at becoming a doctor. (I will also be volunteering and getting clinical experience through other activities, of course.)

I don’t think any kind of EC is looked down on for undergrad or med school admissions, unless it’s really bizarre.
The horseback riding or any other EC wouldn’t certainly “ruin” your chance. It would rather help you look more interesting as an applicant.

As someone from SDN said in your same thread:

Yep (+chars)

If you add this to everything else, it’s fine. If you try to use this to replace something else, I think it might be questionable. Not sure.

It will hurt your chances only if you forget to wear a helmet.

Someone in the year below me was a serious horseback rider at university. Since they’re here at my medical school now, it sure doesn’t seem to be a problem.
