Hospitaly Major - Grades mean nothing!...?

Here is my deal…I was looking over my transcript and I pretty much have a 2.83 overall on a 4.0 scale. I am taking Hotel Management with a concentration in Planning and Control. I just finish my second year so along with some lower level hospitality courses, I take a few requirements each semester. Well, the requirements are NOT my forte, so I’m pulling a C in things like psychology, biology, religion, business law (non hospitality major course). The hospitality courses that I have taken so far I have gotten Cs in too, but it doesnt mean I don’t understand the material. I guess I test very poorly and that is what makes up my final grade. I don’t know how to look at this GPA, its not good to me, in highschool I got like a 3.5, but it was highschool. So my problem is, are these past two years, or 4 semesters going to take a big hit on me in the end when I try to get a job? I go to Niagara University, its a lot of money and the College of Hospitality and Tourism is ranked one of the leading hotel schools in the world. I work in a hotel and I excel like you would not believe. I mean, I have my moments, but I think what it comes down to is that once I know my job, I do it well, and I’m a really fun person to work with, which is also good in an employee.
You know how sometimes a person has a 4.0 GPA and they are booksmart, but they wouldnt know how to operate a microwave if their life depended on it? I’m the person who doesnt have a 4.0 who can figure out an unfamiliar microwave.
Bottom line: Are C’s or a 2.8 overall bad?
