host/Hostess Gift

I am writing from sunny Sanibel Island, Florida. Our neighbors asked us to spend a week with them at their timeshare. So far we have paid for the rental car and the groceries which included 4 cases of beer (we don’t drink beer> 3 bottles of wine <not the=“” kind=“” we=“” drink=“”> bill totaling 400.00. My question now is what can we provide as a thank you gift?</not>

Check out Arthur Court on Amazon (definitely cheapest place to buy)… Look for his alligator pieces. You can buy from 12-200 dollars or so–wide price range–trays, salad tong, cheese trays, wine openers etc. Wonderful hostess gifts and practical too. The bottle opener is only 20 and pretty neat. People collect his pieces and its something that is in the gift shops at Boca Grande. You could order it gift wrapped and have it delivered to their house by the time they get back.

My go to gift is usually edible arrangements. If it’s available, where they live, check it out! If not, Harry & David is always reliable! :)

He also has crabs, lobsters, seahorse stuff–I’m just partial to the alligator. And the price is double at Sanibel and Boca.

Harry and David actually aren’t always reliable. They sent us terrible pears last year and when we complained the next batch was no better. It was really too bad, because the year before I had received the best pears I’ve ever eaten from them.

4 cases of beer and 3 bottles of wine for $400? How does that work?
Make a donation to the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge in their name. It’s the best thing there is about Sanibel.

Gift card to a local restaurant?

DMD the 400.00 included groceries for the week chicken steaks, hamburger, pork chops…cold cuts d,etc…just noted thatzber and wine had already been purchased . lots of good suggestions here…thank you"

@mathmom That’s unfortunate… I’ve never had that experience. I’ve into gotten the pears once and they were pretty good. I usually order the food and wine baskets. The only thing is that for the life of me, I can’t understand why pears would be so expensive.
