A total of 21 teams and three individuals will take part in the event with the top eight teams and the top two individuals who are not part of those eight teams advancing to the Division I Championships set for Albuquerque, N.M., on May 20 to 23. </p>

The three golfers competing as individuals are Steffi Kirchmayr of the College of Charleston, Sara Wikstrom of Arkansas-Little Rock and Araceli Felgueroso of Coastal Carolina."</p>

7th of 21 teams in Central Regional</p>

<p>The University of Texas women’s golf team shot a 15-over-par 303 today to finish seventh in the Central Regional at the University of Texas Golf Club.</p>

<p>Led by an even-par 72 from Caney Hines this afternoon and a dramatic final-hole birdie by Shannon Fish, the Longhorns shot a three-round score of 35-over-par 899 to finish three strokes ahead of LSU and Florida State, which tied for eighth. LSU won the tie.</p>

<p>Texas A&M also advanced with a sturdy final-round score of even-par 288. The Aggies placed fifth, behind TCU, Denver, Purdue and champion UCLA.</p>

<p>Texas advances to the NCAA women’s golf national championship for the first time since 2004.</p>
