Hot Sandwich Recipe

I ended up doing two simple hot sandwiches. Besides the fact that they should have out of the oven and eaten a little earlier (SIL took FOREVER to warm up her soup for us to eat that I had to stall the sandwiches).

Hawaiian rolls, thinly sliced turkey, cheddar with a side sauce of cherry preserves infused with very finely diced jalapeno. Didn’t do the butter/onion “pour” many of those recipes called for but rubbed butter on the pan and brushed the tops with melted butter.

Whole grain slider buns done philly steak style. Thin sliced steak, sauteed peppers and onion, provolone.

Condiments on the side like mayo, whole grain mustard, etc.

I have to say the best part for me was having the cherry jalapeno sauce to dip in!

Still want to try some of the other suggestions here!

So I went to assemble the Hawaiian roll ham and cheese slider recipe this morning to take to church for coffee hour, and discovered that H had eaten all the swiss cheese.

ARGH!!!

He does this. S recently said it’s like raccoons rattling through the garbage in the middle of the night. =))
