Can someone recommend a good mid-price hotel (not business-y, but not high-end resort-y either), near Universal? Prefer places that include some sort of breakfast, but that isn’t essential. North of the freeway is probably best. I’ve googled, but I thought I’d ask here as well. Seems more “in real life” to ask on the CC boards! Lol!
Okay, I think I’ve figured out it’s no big deal to be south of the freeway.
The Sheraton or Hilton located just adjacent to Universal are both in that category. They don’t have included breakfast, but do have the advantage of being within walking distance of Universal (both hotels offer a free shuttle if you prefer). There are numerous dining options at City Walk if you don’t want to pay hotel food prices.
Beware that the Sheraton is undergoing renovations right now.

We usually stay at Residence Inn right there near the new Ikea. You can walk to the little downtown area. RI has good parking too (breakfast included). It’s a little pricey though.
