Hey I was wondering if anybody commuted to UMD from an hour or more away and how do they do it?

I just got accepted as a transfer so I’m trying to figure out if I want to stay at home or live off campus.

The big question is do you live an hour away during non-commuter traveling, or is that to commute with everyone else at 8 am. An hr away during non commuter hours, would translate into an 1 1/2 commute ea way. With the price of gas still climbing that is alot of money.

I’m taking classes at the Shady Grove campus (more scholarships because I went to the community college in the same county), which is nearly a hour drive from College Park and over a hour on public transit. Many commute back and forth as some live, take a class or party in College Park.
