Hello,
Is it helpful to applying to colleges if both of your parents don’t own homes

Are you asking about admissions? If so, owning a house, or not doesn’t matter at all.

Also- for financial reasons do not consider shortsighted schemes to qualify for more aid. Leave the house ownership as it is and out of the equation for school applications. Figure out schools for academic fit then the overall finances. Whether or not your parents own one or more houses per household may affect financial means but don’t worry about it. Do not get into arguments or become depressed about it. Parents should not necessarily give up home ownership or second homes just to finance college- you have to think decades not just cash now. Also- renting may mean not being able to afford buying or it can mean choosing to rent luxury.
