Houshold according to FAFSA

What is the definition of houshold according to FAFSA? Is it literally the amount of people living in the house you currently live in?

My Situation: I live in an apartment with my Fiance, but I am in the military which lists my home of record as my parents. Are there any technicalities I need to watch out for?

as you’re filling out the fafsa on the web, there is a question mark on the screen that you can click. It shows you how to fill out that part.

Yours is an unusual situation. Regardless…your fiance will not count as a “member of your household”. That’s like including roommates as household members. Since you are in the military, your situation as it pertains to your parents is a bit different. Members of the military (I do believe) are considered independent students.
