Housing Application Question.

<p>Im at the part where we choose our hall preference. There are 8 slots in order of choice. I see that it allows you to choose the same hall as much as you want. If we really prefer a certain hall are we supposed to choose it more than once?</p>

<p>Um, you can choose a dorm more than once (like saying, Hartley Single, then Hartley double) for the type of room you want. But it would be stupid to not include more than one dorm in order of preference, because if they can’t assign you your first choice and you don’t have a second place, you just go wherever they can fit you.</p>

<p>In short, no, you’re not supposed to put the same dorm more than twice, in other words don’t select the same <em>option</em> more than once.</p>

<p>For the question about roommates, start by picking a dorm with doubles in it, obviously. And then I think you need to make and take note of your screen-name (this option is on the first page). Now:

To request a specific roommate, please click on the “Roommate Search” step on the left-hand side of that application page, enter the individual’s Screen Name and Date of Birth in the indicated fields, and click the “Search” button. When your requested roommate’s information appears, press the “Request” button to submit your roommate request. If you do not have your desired roommate’s Screen Name and Date of Birth, do not continue to the next step. You should log out now. After you obtain this information from your desired roommate, log back into this application, and you will be returned to this step.</p>

<p>You may request one roommate at a time. If that individual does not accept your request, you may return to the “Roommate Search” step to request a different roommate. If you request more than one roommate, you will not be permitted to proceed with your application.</p>

<p>You must finalize any outstanding roommate requests before continuing to the next step. To finalize this step, please “Accept” or “Delete” any roommate requests you receive and/or wait for the response from any sent roommate requests. Roommates must be confirmed in order to be accepted by the system.</p>

<p>Please note:</p>

• Roommate matching will take priority over residence hall preference requests.
