Housing assignment is out

i got assigned radisson hotel, which i’m a little iffy about :stuck_out_tongue:
does anyone know anything about it?
it was my last choiceeee.

gotrojans!: how do you know where you are in the floorplan? if it’s just your bank of knowledge, do you know how birnkrant goes and where room 3 would be on a given floor?

Oh no! Hopefully we’ll be able to bypass the earplugs and move somewhere quieter. Both my roommate and I go to bed by midnight/wakeup by 9- we need our sleep!

Sequoia, unfortunately I can’t find a floor plan for Pardee anywhere. I’m pretty sure my room is near the elevator because I stayed at Pardee over the summer and all the rooms in the ending in lower digits are closer to the elevator (I’m in room 20_, so I’m close). However, every floor is probably a little different, so it may be farther from the elevator than I remember.

lewis, I honestly have no idea about Birnkrandt- sorry!

Does anyone know if they will be providing housing tours at orientation so we can see where our rooms are? That would be really helpful.

ok thanks gotrojans.just wondering, it would be nice to see exactly where in the building my D’s suite is located (view wise, elevator etc.)

Do you know anyone presently at Pardee? Maybe you could ask a student to locate your room for you to make sure?

senior: Radisson actually has some great advantages - large rooms, private baths, and AC. My D stayed there during Explore and her hosts really liked it.

Congrats on getting your assignments. While you can request to change buildings the housing office doesn’t take room or floor number requests.

Radisson is great. Air conditioned, huge room, private bath, and access to the pool.

There should be tours during orientation. The only issue would be if there is construction going on in the building.

Should Step 5 still say…

“You are not assigned to a room for this term. You can search for one using the options on the left.”

???

And where does it specify who your room mate is? Step 5?

I requested someone but can’t find anything on the application that talks about room mates.

Help greatly appreciated.

My step 5 says the same thing, but I received an email saying I have been assigned to a room, and when I click on other options on the left hand menu it says “you have already been assigned to a room for this term.”

Also, you can’t access info. about roomies until you pay your $400 confirmation fee. Talk to your roommate and see if he/she is assigned to the same building & room, and then you’ll know.

the 13 story high rise is a nice place to stay, also the one near the building by the little pool/waterfall in the front is nice too.

I’m surprised by couple things. I applied for housing pretty late on Mar 26…a week after my acceptance. But I’m happy I got a birnkrant triple, I just hope I don’t have an urge to transfer over to the new buildings at parkside haha. It’s interesting that housing decisions came out before the 15th and I got mine in the first wave even applying kind of late.

nice i got radisson, which was actually my first choice

does anybody know where Room 317 would be in regards to the floor, e.g. close to the elevator or not?

If I was assigned to Parkside Arts & Humanities 13xx, does that mean that I’m on the third floor?

yEahhh … i got radisson too and im not too sure if i want to request a reassignment or not. does anyone know much about the experience at radisson compared to the regular dorms?

if you suite number is 13-- then you’re on the first floor third would be 3—

idno: I think that’s 1st floor since my D’s number is 4xxx

my roommates this year both roomed together last year in the Radisson last year as freshmen and they LOVED it…they said that you get really close with your floormates and the housekeeping/ cleaning is a nice addition…besides, the hotel has a pool that you can use and it is pretty quite…

also…the elevator I believe is in the middle of the hotel…so you get off of it on your floor and can either go right or left…down each hallway…My roomies have said nothing but positive things about radisson

i got new/north…north floor number 3!! so stoked…anyone know where floor plans are for this building? lemme know, thanks all

Radisson has no rooms immediately adjacent to the elevator. There are maintenance closets and an ice machine between them. All of the rooms are nice. USC owns floors three through six.

my s got assigned a different roommate than the one that he has chosen. This roommate has totally different profile than him (eg, stays up all night and doesn’t clean room). Should he and his intended roommate try to get reassignment?
