Housing assignments came out

Anyone else displeased with their assignment? I am not too happy about living at Briscoe the year before they renovate it. On top of that, they are renovating the other building so essentially I will be living in a construction zone. Nice to know!

When did you apply for housing? I believe I applied in December and really want to know. And how did you find out- I assume they do it by email..

Sorry you didn't get what you wanted.

I applied for it back in December. Check your IU email it should be there.

Check that.

So maybe they do it month by month or just in general order of apps received, so hopefully I'll know later today or tomorrow. What was your first choice?

I got Foster. Not what I wanted but it'll do.

My rankings went

Kelley Living Learning Center

NW Neighborhood

Academic NW Neighborhood

I didn't realize the Academic NW Neighborhood was a LLC in Briscoe which is probably why I was placed there... so now I have the option of dropping out of that and hopefully being placed in a different dorm in the NW neighborhood.

Good luck everyone and may you get what dorm you desire!

I got Foster too. I got into the Global Village. Why didn't you want Foster?

^ I wanted Teter. I put Central as my first pick but they gave me Northwest. Teter looks fine though, atleast it's not Briscoe.

I got McNutt :)

No housing assignment yet, but I'm not surprised, as I applied very late. At this point, I'm just hoping that I got a room, regardless of what neighborhood. I'm paranoid that there may be no more room left!

I got a triple in Briscoe.

If you applied super late, then there are chances that you could be assigned to live in a lounge. :/ But it's not toooo bad, it's basically just living in a larger room with two extra roommates (usually they put four people in a lounge). Don't worry though, they usually find you a room by the end of first semester so you would get a room eventually. Plus, if you live in a lounge it's a lot cheaper than an actual room! :)

^ Lounge as in a common area where lots of people hang out? Idk, it doesn't sound like an ideal living arrangement :/

Are these lounges located in all the main residence halls? Or some other weird, obscure part of campus?

Yeah, it's the common area but when people are living in there, it's off-limits to everybody else. Furniture is provided and all~ but it's a temporary arrangement.. most people get reassigned to actual rooms within a couple of weeks.

Each floor in each residence hall has a lounge.
