First of all, does sending in the housing contract guarantee campus housing, even if you don’t get your choices?
Do you send in a check for the $200 or do you pay it online?

You send in a check.

Housing is assigned by priority number. Last year, there were students with high numbers who were in temporary triples when assignments were made. But by the time school started, they had permanent assignments in usual doubles. So, yes, you most likely will get a spot, although if your number is high, you might not know exactly where until weeks or days before. But there are always students who decide to go elsewhere after getting off a waitlist, or decide to stay home and go to community college/state college. That frees up rooms even until the last few weeks before fall starts.
