Housing for Class 2017?

Hello,

I’m almost done with my UF app and I know that should pay the $25 ASAP, but the dorm pictures online seem too misleading. If anyone is a current student, please give me some insight into which one to pick.
I’m somewhat shy so I’d like a social hall where it can be easy to make friends. But nothing too hectic, because I’m majoring in bio and need study time. Something that’s preferably close to the main classes, also.

Thank you! :)

You only need to pay the application fee now to reserve your place in line, so to speak. You won’t be able to choose a particular dorm until next April or May, so you will have plenty of time to research your options. The important thing now is to get the fee in as soon as you can so that you get an early housing date and hopefully get your first choice next spring.

Oh, all right. Thanks for clearing that up.

You’re welcome. Good luck with the application!

I would choose 3rd floor Rawlings if I was you. It is a co-ed floor, but if you’re a girl, the guys can’t get into the girls side, and there is a commom room in the middle where you can meet a lot of people. Very social but not overly hectic like Broward

Good luck on your app!

Thank you all for being so encouraging!
@dolphinfreak: Sounds great, but I heard that Rawlings was basically the guy’s side…?

jennings is great too

What if you pay the fee and don’t get in…

Thanks for the tip Gator.
Hipster, I have no choice, because if I do get in and don’t pay, I probably won’t get a dorm.

The fee is not reimbursable even if you get in or not.

Yeah, such a gimmick.

I’ll be paying for my housing this weekend, but I’m interested about dorms as well. I’d like somewhere near the gym and a congregating area (like the student union), a place that has air conditioning and no communal bathrooms, as well as somewhere that has double dorms. Thanks!
