A friends daughter was offered an internship at Viacom for the summer, Any suggestions on reasonable housing. I know, that is an oxymoron for Los Angeles. Of course we know the usuals, Craigslist, Airbnb, UCLA. Any other suggestions?
It appears you have to be enrolled at UCLA to do summer housing, so that may not be an option.
There should be plenty of summer sublets in West LA – try 90024 zip code on Craigslist. Viacom is off of Colorado Blvd, somewhere around 27th, (26th?) and so not very far from West LA near Bundy, between Santa Monica Blvd. & Olympic/Pico Blvd. The Santa Monica Bus provides great bus service. Mar Vista might be another area to check.
This might still be a bit early. One challenge for summer sublets is that UCLA is on the quarter system and school doesn’t let out until sometime in June.
Might also check around Santa Monica Community College; they’re still on semesters, I think. Not too far from Viacom.
Also maybe Loyola Marymount. They might get out earlier.
