Housing for Transfer Students

Hello,

My name is Joseph and I recently got admitted to NYU’s Stern School of Business as a transfer student (incoming junior). I am filling out my housing application now and was wondering what are some good places to live for transfer students? I am aware that some places may have already filled up since transfers get last pick, but it’s hard to decipher what’s still available since the housing application has us list our preferences and all of the upperclassmen dorms are there for choosing (even though they are there for choosing, I don’t know if that means these dorms are still available).

If someone could give me the pros and cons of the different dorms, that would be great. I am mainly concerned with the proximity of the dorm to the campus and cost. All other things for me are secondary (surrounding neighborhood, condition of the dorm, etc). Also, I may want to live with a friend who is also transferring into Stern. Is this possible as we are both incoming transfer students?

Thanks!
