Housing in Orlando

A family friend in her late 20s just accepted a job with Universal Studios and needs to move immediately. Immediately meaning she is driving south from Philadelphia as we speak and needs to find something this weekend, although she could stay in a hotel short term if necessary. Can anyone recommend a studio, one-bedroom or roommate situation in the area? Even a summer sublet or neighborhood recommendation would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I’ve known so many students that live near/in Orlando, but I need to get their permission to contact your friend. There are many nice apartment buildings. My suggestion is to post on UCF board.

There are lots of condos in Metro West, which is right near Universal Studios- she can try local property managers to find a condo or apartment.

I sent you a private PM

Great - thank you. Keep any suggestions coming, even if it is just for recommended (or not) neighborhoods.

My D had a summer internship in Orlando. Her apartment was right next door to Universal. They rent furnished short term which might be an option while your friend looks for more permanent housing. I will try to recall the name of the company. She found it on Craigslist.

Thank you so much to those who have sent me private messages, as well as replying above. They have all been helpful, and your advice is greatly appreciated. Keep 'em coming!
