<p>Hi there!
I’m an italian student at the University of Bari in Italy, and this coming November I’ll come to the United States at the University of Maryland to work on a research project at the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory. The teacher that will supervise me said that she’s searching around but that in the meantime I coud have a look too… I have all the relevant paperwork done (including the VISA) so all that is left is a place to live for the coming months… :)</p>

<p>How does it work in the US? Here in Italy, we students that do not live in the city where the university is located, usually rent a room in an apartment near the campus and share it with other students, each one in his room. Is it the same in the US? By seeing lots of college themed movies and series :slight_smile: I know there is also the “dorm” option, but I guess that these maybe mostly reserved for their students and that by November there may not be many places left.</p>

<p>Are there some places where I can search for offers? Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>You should call or email the RESIDENT LIFE office at the University of Maryland and tell them your housing needs and ask about possiblities. If you cannot get on campus (and I dont know for sure but I think it would be hard to get housing in November on campus) they may be able to direct you to sources that can give you information on apartments.</p>
