Housing Packet

My D hasn’t received her housing packet yet. Has anybody else?

From what I hear we recieve them beginning-mid June. My boyfriend, who does work study doing filing at the Pitzer admissions office, said that the schools might be late in their housing packets this year to try to gauge the summer melt. As of this year (and the past two), Scripps is over enrolled, which means forced triples and doubles. They may be waiting to see if they lose some kids to waitlist before they make crowded living arrangements official.

I was told by finance early June. So not a problem, yet.

Thanks for the info. I hope the crowding factor won’t be too bad. My D has always had her own room.

I think freshmen are rarely in singles and from my daughter’s experience I would say that you would not want to be in a single your first year.
It was a really good experience (she was in a triple) and she is electing to be in a triple with 2 other students next year.

I tried to get the housing packet a week early last summer because we were going to be out of the country during the time it needed to be turned back in and it was a no-go on getting it early. So you will have to be patient.
