Housing Questions!

I have a few main questions:

I would like to live in the Jester-San Jacinto type of area near the stadium. Not Duren or Kinsolving, and I'm not in honors so no honors housing either. Which of the smaller dorms would you recommend, and why? Is Roberts or Prathers or Brackenridge better? Which ones are better than the others, and which ones have the biggest windows?

Would you recommend community bath or private bath? Why? How do community baths function, like shower wise? Are there stalls?

If you've lived in one dorm feel free to explain why you liked/disliked it over the others!

I haven't been to all of the dorms so I can't compare and contrast them all that well but the rooms haven't changed in years so if you search through the old threads I'm sure you'll find lots of good info. To get a feel of the room and window size and all you can use the virtual room tours on UT's housing website.

Also, keep in mind that there is a cost difference between private and community bath that might factor in to your decision

My parents already told me they'll pay whatever to make me happy dorm-wise. As long as it's reasonable. They don't really mind paying the few thousand extra for San Jacinto.

I did look through the other threads haha. There is just WAY too much information to sift through. Thank you!

I live in Jester and I don't mind the community baths. They are cleaned for you and the showers are fine (if you wear flip-floops/shower sandals because no one likes to get athlete's foot). There's no line up for the showers or anything of that sort on my floor. Jester is more of a centralized location than San Jac, in terms of food (Jester has JCL, Jester Pizza, Jester Market, Wendy's, PCL right across the street, and the Sanger Learning Center). San Jacinto is not all that far from Jester either but it may be less convenient.

My floor is quiet as well (usually) and as long as you do laundry on a weekday you won't be waiting for the washing machines or dryers. Oh, and the pull out beds are not nearly as bad as they seem. I sleep soundly on mine.

I can't comment on San Jac rooms or anything else about San Jac because I don't live there.
