I am most likely going to end up in Jester in the Fall and I have a couple of questions about it.
Firstly, are ironing boards and irons provided?
Are there kitchens anywhere in Jester?
Are there many benefits from buying resnet? Or is it just as good to go outside the room to get wireless? Basically, in college how reliable are you on internet in your room?
When does the first housing bill come out?
Thanks!

Ironing boards are provided, but I think it’s like 1 per floor section or something. But I doubt anybody else would use it when you need to… Irons must be brought though, it’s listed on the “appliances allowed to bring” section of the UT Housing website.

There are no kitchens, although you have a microwave in your room.

Resnet is really necessary. 500mb is your limit per week on the wireless, and you would be really surprised on how quickly that gets eaten up. 1 movie download though iTunes = it’s used up. It’s also unbelieveably slower than Resnet though wired connections. That’s not to say it’s slow at all, but it’s still nowhere near the speeds. If you are a light user, the 4GB package is perfectly fine. I am going to be getting the 10GB package, since I like my movies in high definition, and that’s 4GB per movie right there, I watch one movie per week, etc. I won’t use most of the 10GB most weeks, but I need it. I am a huge power user of computers and I still don’t see the 15GB being necessary, so I don’t suggest that package at all.

First housing bill is due October 1st for on-campus housing. See: [Division of Housing and Food Service - Payment Information](<a href=“UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining”>UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining)

Ok, thanks! One more thing I thought of:
If we get a mattress topper, would the bed still have room to be pushed back in?

There is a community kitchen in the basement of Jester West near the computer lab.
