Housing Status Changed?

Yesterday when I checked my housing, it said De Neve and such. Today, when I checked again, I have Hitch Suites. Is that part of the De Neve complex or something? My friends who did housing with me seem to have the same thing happen to them too…

oooh that sucks. did you request a change? if not they might have overbooked de neve so they switched you to hitch…

Wow. I feel sorry for you. Well, for last year’s class, it seems that UCLA overbooked Rieber Hall, so some of my friends got switched to Saxon Suites.

So, De Neve is a plaza, with private bathroom and a actual floor to mingle with other residents. Hitch Suites, on the other hand, is apartment-style living. You get a living room, and the rooms you live in are the biggest that UCLA has to offer. However, Hitch is socially isolated. Due to the apartment-style living, it’s really hard to meet new people, just because there isn’t a “floor”; you have to go door-to-door knocking, instead of just popping into a room with an open door.

The living room is still nice. Many mini-parties, movie watching, and get-togethers have been done in my living room. (I live in Hitch).

when do we know if they’re finalized? and is it best to just accept as soon as possible? or if i accept now and my potential friends who selected me dont can they get switched while i’m still stuck with it?

yeah i got switched to hitch also…

anyone know why this switch happened etc?

do you really have to submit initial payment before submiting a change request??

that’s what the housing website said says…

I’m going to accept my offer before it gets changed into something I wouldn’t want…sure wish UCLA could explain their system better and give us more options to work with instead of “take it or leave it”…

yeahh it’s a little vague … i’m still debating what to do, myself. where are you going to live chappa ?

Hedrick Summit triple…at least it’s the top of a hill…should be a nice view and I like to walk…

yeah that sounds great … one of my close friends will be living there too … and i actually think walking is a good thing … i mean, it will definetely help avoid the freshman 15 … hahaha… but i’m in dykstra as of right now … which is close which means less walking … but i’m goin to try and change … and if i can’t then i will definetely be visiting hedrick summit to get away from it all … haha. =)
