In general, how is the housing availability for sophomore through senior year if a student would like to stay on campus?

Believe it or not the older the student is, academic year wise (freshmen, sophmore…) gets higher preference on room allocation and requests relating to Housing. Although this may, it is advisable to inform to the Dept. of Housing that you would like this.

There is no issue with staying all the four years, but I get your dilemma with the whole “what if the freshmen get preference?”. I say don’t worry about it but if you really have reason(s) to stay which are more important than just wanting to, I suggest you talk to the dept. of housing.

It’s pretty good. If you’re a rising sophomore, and you’re rooming with an upperclassman, you have 0% chance of not getting housing (They basically pick first, and pull you in into their apartment). Otherwise, you can increase your chances by having more credit hours (AP and transfer included) and having a good GPA.

They do it by seniority and how many credit hours you have, so it’s not really a problem getting housing on campus for all four years. You might not get your first choice, but you’ll get somewhere.
