<p>Does anyone here know if it is possible to get on campus housing after one has moved off campus for a semester?</p>

<p>they say that you are guaranteed 4 years of housing at BU so why wouldn’t they honor that? Off campus housing is now ridiculously expensive so why would you bother with it anyway?</p>

<p>Yes…but the info is that if you move off campus, you then relinquish your right to have on campus housing again in the future. I just wondered if anyone had gotten back into university housing after leaving it.</p>

<p>I had a room mate (27 years ago though) that I got back onto the campus by “pulling her in” on my lottery number to room with me for sophomore year.</p>

<p>Once you give up housing, it is POSSIBLE to get it back, but you’re basically last on the priorities list. First on campus kids, then freshmen, then transfers, then you.</p>

<p>Considering the housing shortage, it is highly unlikely.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure you can get pulled back on campus, so if you have someone to room with who is still on campus, you can have them pull you into a room.</p>

<p>So…for example…if my son lives off campus now, we know he would be at the BOTTOM of the dorm lottery. BUT if he had a friend living in say, Buick Street, with a higher lottery number, could he “pull him in” to that apartment?</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure he could. Your son would go with him to the rooming meeting, since you bring whoever you want to room with to the meeting. I think all this information is on the housing website.</p>

Last year when my D was considering going off campus, I emailed the Director of housing and he told me that it is extremely unlikely to get back on–in fact he could only remember 2 people in the last 5 years who got back into housing. But the scenario you described with a friend already in residence might be a different story.</p>

<p>On the other hand, my D (and 2 or 3 of her roommates) will be in London next spring if he wants to sublet???</p>

<p>Apropos of housing, we got a letter today from BU about next year’s housing. Residence license agreements and credit card guarantee deposits must be submitted on line by February 24.</p>
