Housing

On this website ( [Division of Housing and Food Service - Prices](<a href=“UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining”>UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining) ), it shows that Whitis, San Jancinto and Duren residence halls seem to have higher prices.

What are special for these residence halls?

San Jacinto and Duren have private baths. All the other dorms have either connecting baths but most have community baths. I don’t know why Whitis is more expensive, but I think it is because Whitis is where the REsidential FIGS are housed. I think the dorms are much bigger and have more space. For some reason, I think I remember hearing they are kind of like apartment style? Something of that sort… but you have to be in a residential FIG to live in them.

Once you have paid the housing fee, how do you designate what Dorm preferences you want?

When you are accepted to the University, if you have made an application for housing and paid the $50 fee, you should be offered a housing contract by e-mail. When you accept the contract and send in the $300 housing deposit, you will be able to see your housing choices online. You have until July to state your preferences (5) for dorms.

For San Jacinto and Duren residence halls, what types of bath are available?

There are detailed explanations of housing choices for all dorms here:

For San Jacinto and Duren, I think only connecting (private) bathrooms are offered
