I got assigned to this Hall. How is it like?

Freshman dorm, v. good location, decently sized rooms. Not always the most social it seems (is it the curvy halls?), but that’s not to say you won’t make friends there of course. Pretty good-quality as they go, and pretty good location.

Houston is on the Rez Quad so it has quite a nice view. It’s not too far from Carmichael, the uphill dining hall. Olin, the language center, is just next door, so you won’t die if you end up with an 8 AM language class. And if most of your classes are uphill, you’re golden!

op, how did u find out ur dorm assignment? snail or e-mail?

Dorm assignments are sent out through snail mail.

Did any of you read the Housing Agreement and notice that it sounds like we’re not allowed to be in the dorms between 12/19/08 and 1/12/09?

i think most dorms are closed for winter break since most people go home, but a few are open for those who don’t go home then. But i’m not totally sure though…

That is correct. The dorms–specifically Richardson, Stratton, and Metcalf-- house international students as well as athletes during Winter Break. You’ll have to submit an application to ORLL if you want a room.
