Is this still a very marketable degree to have, not being the Tepper Business Admin. degree?
How difficult is it to transfer into Tepper?
Thanks

Econ is a program run jointly between Tepper and HSS. So it is technically HSS, but is still strongly affiliated with Tepper and has much of the same respect in terms of employment. Tepper kids sometimes rag on Econ kids because the Econ core curriculum is significantly easier (lots of fancy, easy humanities fluffy courses as opposed to hardcore calc/whatever) but you will do just as well at job fairs if you present yourself well. Many people transfer from Econ to Tepper and vice versa. It’s fairly common.

Tepper kids do not do hardcore calc. They do joke business calc.

Haha, true. I guess any calc is hardcore calc to us humanities kids. We get to take classes like “Recreational Problem Solving” and “Chemistry of the Kitchen” to fulfill our math/sci requirements.

Actually the opposite is true, i.e. econ kids are required to take hardcore math classes, whereas business kids take the “fluffy” courses.

@Racin/Bruno: this is not always true; the people doing finance (and particularly computational finance) often opt for harder calc… or so I’ve heard…
